AI consultant, Brisbane and South East Queensland

Engaged to work out what you should do. Not to sell you a platform.

A consulting engagement should end with you holding a document you can act on, with or without us. We audit what is actually happening to enquiries in your business, put the fixes in order, and tell you which ones are not worth doing.

Straight answer first

We are not a Brisbane firm. We are ninety minutes north of you.

Plenty of sites claiming to be your local AI consultant are a virtual office and a map pin. Here is the actual arrangement, so you can decide whether it works for you.

Sell Stack AI is based at Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast. We work with businesses across Brisbane and South East Queensland regularly, and we travel down for the meetings where being in the room actually changes the outcome, which is usually the first one and the handover.

Everything in between happens remotely, because that is where the work is. The audit takes place inside your CRM, your phone records and your ad accounts. None of those are in your office, and standing next to you while we read them would not improve the reading.

What being in South East Queensland does buy you is the things that genuinely matter: the same timezone, so a question asked at 9am is answered at 9am. An understanding of the market you actually sell into. And the ability to be at your place of business tomorrow if something needs a person in the room.

Ask any consultant you are considering where they are and how often they will be on site. The answer matters. What matters less is whether their postcode starts with a four.

Consultant or agency?

Two different purchases. Buying the wrong one is expensive.

A consultant is engaged to think

Paid for a defined piece of work with an end date and a written deliverable. You should finish holding something you can act on without them.

  • An audit of what actually happens to your enquiries, from your own data.
  • A roadmap with the sequence and the reasoning.
  • A clear statement of what is not worth building.
  • A defined end. You are not still paying in a year.

Choose this if you do not yet know what your problem is, or you have been quoted for something and want an independent view before committing.

An agency is retained to do

Paid ongoing to build and run the work. Appropriate once the problem is understood and the answer is a system somebody has to operate.

  • The systems built and maintained.
  • Ongoing operation and adjustment as the business changes.
  • Reporting on the numbers that prove it is working.
  • An ongoing cost, which should be tied to a measurable outcome.

Choose this once you know what needs building. Our ongoing work is described on the AI agency Brisbane page.

If you are not sure which you need, that is itself the answer: start with the consulting, because a retainer entered into before the problem is defined has no way to succeed and no natural point at which to stop.

The engagement

Four weeks, and the value arrives in week two.

01

Scope

A twenty minute call. What the business does, where enquiries come from, which systems hold the answers, and what you think the problem is.

02

Count

We go into those systems and count. Response times from timestamps, calls that rang out, quotes sitting unanswered and their age, stage by stage drop off, and what is attributed to which advertising.

03

Report

A written audit: where enquiries enter, where they stop, what the gap is worth per month, and how each figure was arrived at. Yours to keep and take anywhere.

04

Roadmap

What to fix first, second and third. What to leave alone. What not to buy. Written so that you, your existing IT support, or another supplier can implement it without us.

The audit at step two is free. Most businesses have never had it done, and the finding is almost never where the owner expected it to be.
Proof

What counting properly turns up.

Decorative concrete manufacturer, South East Queensland

837 enquiries in the CRM. Seven of them had been won.

This business was not short of leads. It was short of follow-up. We pulled every record out of their CRM and classified all 837 opportunities. 241 quotes had been sent and never chased, worth $776,688, sitting an average of 222 days untouched. Another 302 enquiries had never moved past the first stage at all, some for five months. Across the whole pipeline, only 42 records had been touched in the previous fortnight.

So we built the layer that does the chasing. Missed calls now get a text back inside a minute. An AI qualifier works the reply, finds out what the job actually is, writes it into the CRM and hands a written brief to a human. It never quotes and it never books. The quote backlog gets a real sequence carrying case studies and reviews instead of silence, capped daily so it goes out over a fortnight rather than in one blast. Alongside it runs a live report that attributes every inbound call to the tracking number that produced it, so the ad spend is finally answerable.

Figures from a full reconciliation of the client’s CRM, 837 opportunities across seven pipelines, pulled 23 July 2026. The call attribution report is live. Published without the client’s name.

The businesses we see this pattern in most across South East Queensland.

🔨

Trades and construction

The largest group by some distance. Owner on the tools, calls ringing out, quotes going quiet. Brisbane’s construction pipeline through the 2032 Olympic build means more enquiry volume arriving at businesses whose office capacity has not changed.

🏥

Clinics and allied health

The phone rings during consults and the front desk is one person. New patient enquiries are lost to whichever practice answered.

🏢

Professional services

Enquiries arrive by email and sit unread in a shared inbox for two days while everyone assumes somebody else has it.

🏠

Real estate

Response time is close to the entire competitive difference, and the agent who replies in four minutes gets the appraisal.

Questions

What Brisbane businesses ask us.

What does an AI consultant in Brisbane do?
An AI consultant is engaged to work out what a business should do, in what order, and what it should not bother with. That is different from an agency, which is retained to run the work ongoing. A consulting engagement should produce something you can act on without the consultant: an audit of what is actually happening in your operation, a roadmap with the sequence, and an honest view of what is not worth building.
Are you based in Brisbane?
No, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. We are based at Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast, about ninety minutes north of the Brisbane CBD, and we work with Brisbane businesses regularly. Most of the work happens inside your systems rather than in your office, so it is done remotely, and we travel to Brisbane for the meetings where being in the room genuinely matters.
Should I hire a local AI consultant?
For this kind of work, proximity matters much less than it used to and much less than people expect. The audit happens inside your CRM, your phone system and your ad accounts, none of which are in your office. What does matter is whether the consultant understands the Australian market you sell into, works in your timezone, and can be in the room for the conversations that need it. Ask about those rather than about the postcode.
What is the difference between an AI consultant and an AI agency?
A consultant is engaged to think and is paid for a defined piece of work with an end. An agency is retained to do and is paid ongoing. Both are legitimate, and the mistake is buying the second when you needed the first. If you do not yet know what your problem is, an ongoing retainer is an expensive way to find out. We offer both and will tell you which one you actually need. Our ongoing work is described on the AI agency Brisbane page.
What kinds of Brisbane businesses do you work with?
Mostly owner operated businesses of two to five people: trades and construction, allied health and clinics, professional services, real estate and hospitality. The common factor is not the industry, it is the shape of the problem. Enquiries arrive faster than anyone can work them properly, and the owner is the bottleneck because the owner is also doing the actual work.
How long is a consulting engagement?
The audit and roadmap typically take two to four weeks depending on how many systems hold your data and how clean it is. That is a defined piece of work with a defined end and a written deliverable. If you then want the implementation built, that is a separate decision and a separate engagement, and you are free to take the roadmap to anyone else instead.
What does it cost?
The initial audit is free and produces a written finding you keep regardless. Beyond that, cost depends on scope, so we quote after we know what the problem is rather than before. Be wary of anyone who can price an AI engagement before they have looked at your numbers, because it means the price is attached to a product rather than to your problem.

Book the audit. It is free and the findings are yours.

Twenty minutes on the phone, then we go and count what is actually happening to enquiries in your business. You get the written findings whether or not you engage us for anything further, and you are welcome to take them to another supplier.
