The switchboard quote you sent in March is still sitting there.

Electrical work is considered work. The customer takes weeks to decide, and in those weeks nothing arrives from you, so somebody else gets the job. We build the layer that keeps the conversation going while you are on site.

The problem

Your pipeline is not empty. It is full of quotes nobody went back to.

Ask an electrician where the business is going wrong and they will usually say leads. Go and count what is in their system and it is almost never leads.

Electrical quotes are slower than most trades. A switchboard upgrade, a rewire, a solar install, a commercial fit out: these are considered purchases. The customer gets two or three prices, thinks about it, talks to their partner or their board, and takes anywhere from two weeks to three months to decide.

During those weeks, what arrives from you? For most electrical businesses, nothing. The quote was sent, the job went into the CRM, and the next thing that happens is nothing at all. The customer does not decide against you. They decide without you.

In one audit we ran on a trade business, 241 quotes had been sent and never chased, worth $776,688, sitting an average of 222 days untouched. Those were not bad leads. Somebody had driven to every one of those sites, measured up, and priced the job. All of that cost was already spent.

The second leak is repeat work. Commercial clients need an electrician several times a year. If nothing from you reaches them between jobs, they will call whoever they can find when the next fault happens, and it will not be you, because you are not in front of them.

What it handles

The office work that waits until you are off site.

📝

The quote backlog

Every quote that went quiet gets a real sequence across SMS, email and phone, carrying proof and reviews rather than a bare just following up. It stops the moment they answer either way.

🏢

Commercial qualification

Which site, whose budget, what the compliance requirement is, who signs it off, when the shutdown window is. Written up before you spend a morning on a site visit.

Fault calls

Domestic fault calls need speed, not qualification. Those get answered fast, triaged, and put in front of you or booked, without going through a commercial intake.

📲

Missed calls

A call that rings out while you are in a ceiling gets a text back inside a minute, and the conversation starts without you.

📋

Certificates and paperwork

Prompted at the right point, attached to the job, sent to the customer and filed. The compliance judgement stays with you. The chasing does not.

🔄

Maintenance and repeat work

Past commercial clients get contacted on a sensible cycle so the next fault call comes to you rather than to whoever they found first.

What a full CRM reconciliation actually turns up.

837 enquiries in the CRM. Seven of them had been won.

This business was not short of leads. It was short of follow-up. We pulled every record out of their CRM and classified all 837 opportunities. 241 quotes had been sent and never chased, worth $776,688, sitting an average of 222 days untouched. Another 302 enquiries had never moved past the first stage at all, some for five months. Across the whole pipeline, only 42 records had been touched in the previous fortnight.

So we built the layer that does the chasing. Missed calls now get a text back inside a minute. An AI qualifier works the reply, finds out what the job actually is, writes it into the CRM and hands a written brief to a human. It never quotes and it never books. The quote backlog gets a real sequence carrying case studies and reviews instead of silence, capped daily so it goes out over a fortnight rather than in one blast. Alongside it runs a live report that attributes every inbound call to the tracking number that produced it, so the ad spend is finally answerable.

The rules

Hard limits, agreed before anything goes live.

  • Never gives a price, a rate, a range or a ballpark.
  • Never issues, signs or interprets a compliance certificate.
  • Never claims to be you or a licensed person.
  • Never texts a do-not-contact record or a landline.
  • Never sends outside the hours you set.
  • Escalates anything urgent straight to your phone.
  • Hands to a human on anger, warranty or anything unclear.
  • Honours STOP before the model ever sees the message.
  • Caps daily sends so a backlog goes out over a fortnight, not in one blast.
  • Writes everything it learns into your records in plain words.
Questions

What electricians ask us.

How does AI help an electrical business?
It runs the office work that piles up while you are on site. Answering enquiries and missed calls, working out whether something is a fault call or a quotable project, chasing the quotes you have already sent, booking jobs into your calendar with reminders, and asking for reviews when the job is finished. In electrical specifically, the biggest single win is usually the quote backlog, because electrical quotes tend to be larger and slower than plumbing ones and they go cold quietly.
Where does an electrical business actually lose money?
Two places, and neither is pricing. The first is quotes that were sent and never followed up. Switchboard upgrades, rewires, solar and commercial fit outs are considered purchases, so the customer takes weeks to decide, and if nothing arrives from you in those weeks the decision gets made without you. The second is repeat and maintenance work that never gets asked for. You did a job for a commercial client eighteen months ago, they have needed an electrician four times since, and they used somebody else because you never got back in touch.
Can it handle commercial and domestic differently?
Yes, and it should, because they are different businesses wearing the same uniform. A domestic fault call needs speed. A commercial enquiry needs qualification: which site, whose budget, what the compliance requirement is, who signs it off, and when the shutdown window is. We build the two paths separately so a commercial enquiry does not get handled like a powerpoint replacement.
What about compliance paperwork and certificates?
We automate the chasing and the filing rather than the certifying. The system can prompt for the certificate at the right point, attach it to the job record, send it to the customer, and keep the audit trail tidy. The actual compliance judgement stays with the licensed person, for obvious reasons, and we do not build anything that issues or signs a certificate.
Will it give customers a price?
No. Every trade system we build is hard blocked from giving a price, a rate, a range or a ballpark. Electrical pricing depends on what is behind the wall and a machine cannot see behind the wall. The system gathers what you need to quote and hands it over.
Do I need to replace my job management software?
Almost never. We build on top of it. Most electrical businesses already have software that handles scheduling, timesheets and invoicing perfectly well, and what is missing is the layer that talks to customers between the enquiry and the booking. See our CRM for tradies page for the distinction.
How quickly does it pay for itself?
That depends entirely on the size of your quote backlog, which is why the audit comes first. For most electrical businesses the unchased quote pile is the single largest number in the assessment, and reactivating even a small proportion of it covers the build.

Find out what your quote backlog is worth.

We will count the quotes sitting unanswered in your system, work out how old they are and what they are worth, and give you the number in writing. For most electrical businesses this is the largest and most recoverable number in the whole assessment.
